Recovering excess chromium powder from component parts

Metal treatment specialist improves its production capacity using the Finex Separator. The process now only requires one operator instead of two
Helping a range of industries to prevent wear and tear to their component parts, Chromin Maastricht BV specializes in chrome diffusion. By using chromium powder, they create a chrome plating layer over the component part, making it resistant to abrasion and adhesion. This is particularly useful for parts such as plungers, bearing bushes and ball valves.

To achieve chrome diffusion, the company needs to bake component parts in a heat-resistant container with the chromium powder at temperatures of 800-1000 degrees Celsius. When this process is completed, excess chromium powder usually remains on the component part which previously required a hand sieve to clean the parts.

As a better alternative to this time-consuming practice, Chromin integrated a 40” Finex Separator™ into their production line to remove excess powder while allowing it to be recovered for reuse. As well as increasing capacity from 20 to 40 containers per day, the process now only requires one operator instead of two. To find out how you can improve your productivity, contact Russell Finex today.

Filtering rice paste for baby cereal
Leading food manufacturer uses Self-cleaning Russell Eco Filter® to remove contamination and improve quality of its baby rice cereal A large food factory in China, producing milk powders, cereals and infant formula, sought to improve its production line to meet increased demand. One of its most popular products, rice cereal, is a popular choice for infants, providing them with a nutritious food source. To abide by strict food safety standards, the company consulted Russell Finex to find a filtration solution that would efficiently remove contamination from the rice paste used in its cereal. Processing 6 tonnes per hour, the Self-Cleaning Russell Eco Filter® efficiently filters out oversize and contamination from the company’s rice paste. For automatically monitoring the process, the company also now uses the Russell Filter Management System™. Automating this task means minimal operator involvement, allowing them to focus on other tasks while limiting their exposure to hazardous materials. the Self-Cleaning Russell Eco Filter® is also a cost-effective solution, eliminating disposal costs

Liquid solid separator for whiskey grains The Russell Liquid Solid Separator provides an effective solution for off-grain fermentation
Liquid solid separator for whiskey grains
The Russell Liquid Solid Separator provides an effective solution for off-grain fermentation When it comes to perfecting the taste of whiskey, craft distilleries will do all they can to strike that balance between production efficiency and quality. One mid-sized US craft distillery consulted Russell Finex to achieve a purer flavor for their whiskey while boosting production. One method of achieving a purer taste is ‘fermenting off the grain’. This is when grains are removed prior to fermentation, while also allowing a larger volume of liquid to be distilled. Removing the grains also eliminates any undesirable flavors otherwise caused by tannins. Using the Russell Liquid Solid Separator™ to remove grains, the distillery saw an immediate boost in production by 25%. The centrifugal separator allowed for more grains to be removed than before, allowing a greater capacity for production. In addition, they were able to improve the flavor of their spirit while minimizing costs and their environmental impact. For efficient liquid solid separation, contact

Russell Finex helps streamline Chinese additive manufacturing plant
Russell Finex helps Chinese additive manufacturing (AM) plant to streamline its powder processing, replacing their manual screen with an efficient and safer automated solution. Additive manufacturing is a growing market in China. Companies like the Chengdu Tianqi Industry Group strive to improve the process by building reliable 3D printing centres to meet rising demand. To help with this the group contacted Russell Finex to replace their manual sieve with an efficient and safer automated solution to process their titanium AM powder. After a consultation, the Russell AMPro® Lite was recommended as an innovative alternative to meet Tianqi’s processing requirements. The machine was set up for powder reclaim from the 3D printer chamber. Screening powder at a much faster rate so it could be moved on to the next stage of processing. In addition to increasing sieving capacity, the Russell AMPro® Lite minimized product waste and improved operator safety. The contained system was ideal to prevent powder leakage into the air, as well as preventing contaminants from getting into the powder. The Russell AMPro® Lite is ideal for safeguarding
