Even in non-conductive containers, something rubbing the outside surface of the unit can cause static electricity to build. Bulk solids are composed of many particles or granules of varying sizes, densities and chemical compositions. The new pilot valve box HE 5700 makes it possible: With immediate effect, the filter controls from HESCH can also be integrated as standard in dust extraction systems with pneumatic valves. Valve controls from HESCH ensure the optimum triggering of compressed air pulses on industrial dust extraction systems, thus enabling highly efficient filter cleaning. Until now, however, the controls could only be installed on systems with pneumatic valves by using special solutions. The reason was that there was no standardized housing solution for the required pilot valves. Now the HESCH engineers have developed a compact pilot valve box which is suitable for all dust extraction systems with pneumatic valves. This means that the pilot valves and the associated control system can be installed very easily – there is no need for costly special solutions. The pilot valve box fits perfectly into the new generation of modular valve controls from HESCH. This makes the AirFlow P the perfect measuring device for volumetric flow measurement at positions where differential pressure measurements cannot be used due to excessive dust loading or where duct conversions are not possible or desirable. The AirFlow P can be easily installed on existing ducts, there is no venturi or similar conversions required. Fluidised bed technology processes benefit from: * the intensive mixing of the original solids * the large available particle surface * the fine distribution of liquid droplets A fluidised bed consists of a bed of solid particles that are lifted by an upward flow of air and thereby converted into a liquid-like state, i.e. fluidised. By spraying a solid-bearing liquid with an average droplet size of 50 µm (1 liter of water = 15 billion droplets) onto the fluidised bed, granules or agglomerates can be produced. Further possible steps are coating or matrix encapsulation phases. After any subsequent drying or further thermal treatment, the finished product can easily be discharged from the system. Addition of liquid is carried out with a positive-displacement pump by spraying, using a two-substance nozzle. Compressed air is generally used for nebulization. A client who manufactures chocolate, candy and chewing gum in the United Kingdom had a special application for a roller gate. In this application, the dual cylinder Vortex Roller Gate would be used to stop the material flow of sorbitol in the client’s process. Sorbitol is a sweetener used in foods, oral care products and pharmaceuticals. This Vortex Roller Gate was designed with double-acting air cylinder actuators and was constructed with a 150mm (6”) special service inlet to match the customer’s pattern. The valve body is 6061-T6 aluminum with a 304 stainless steel blade and seal retainers. Material contact is 304 stainless steel and polymer. The valve blade is electropolished to address the stickiness of the product being handled. The air cylinders are equipped with magno-pistons for use with magnetic reed position indication switches. Milled access slots in the side frame allows removal and replacement of bonnet seals while the gate remains in service.

Images of the devastating floods in the Eifel and Ahr valley region and news about the tragedy of so many people are going around the world. Our company, located in what was until recently known the picturesque Ahr valley region, has also been impaired. Even though our manufactory has not been flooded, most our employees are affected badly, as almost all of them live in the disaster area. Some of them have lost everything, others still have a roof over their heads, but they have to live with the traumatic view day to day. The destroyed infrastructure does have not only tremendous impact on the people but also for the companies of this region. Between feeling completely helpless and our overwhelming wish and unconditional will to stand together in this crisis, Köllemann has been active.
