Design and function principle of a PMT spiral jet mill
The functional principle of the PMT spiral jet mill is as simple as elegant. The material is fed pneumatically to the mill and runs spirally through the milling chamber. Grinding media enters the area through the milling nozzles. Grinding media is either compressed air (3.5 to 15 bar and 240°C) or superheated steam (up to 24 bar and 400°C). The air stream fluidizes the material-bed and lifts as much particles as possible into the stream. Comminution is mainly based on shearing forces which result from velocity differences. The integrated dynamic classifier is capable to run at a maximum circumferential speed of 190 m/s. As soon as the particles reach a certain finess, they can pass the classifier to the final product. The fineness can be easily adjusted by variation of the classifier speed.

Ultrafine dry grinding with PMT spiral Jetmill SJ50-ER100 Functional filler demand special grinding technologies.
Ultrafine dry grinding with PMT spiral Jetmill SJ50-ER100
Functional filler demand special grinding technologies. Every day we experience an increasing technical demand from the filler industry. We respond to the change from ‘extender filler’ to ‘functional filler’ with the PMT spiral Jetmill. High classifier speed and special classifier geometry allow products with a fineness in the low micrometer range and, depending on the material, even below 1 µm. + Finest particle sizes (d50) + Exact top cut (d97) + Narrow particle size distribution + High aspect ratio + Improvement of functional properties + Up to 30 % less energy consumption with newest development + High grinding efficiency due to the closed grinding and classifying circuit + Easy adjustment of fineness by regulation of rotor speed + Possibility to remove impurities + Guaranteed operational reliability

Functional fillers with energy efficient jet mill
EEU-System reduces specific energy consumption of dry ultrafine grinding. Today functional fillers are confronted with steadily increasing requirements. Applications, e.g., in in polymer industry, used to be satisfied with extender fillers, which cheapened the compound. During the last decade the material profile has changed from pure volume filler to functional additives and fillers. But that is not good enough by half. Striving for sustainable ways of production and low carbon footprint begins in raw material processing and sets new standards. Modern spiral jet mills are the state of the art in the micronization of highly lamellar fillers. With their specific type of comminution based on shear forces, the particle shape significant for the downstream applications - whether in flake or needle form - can be preserved or even improved. With the development of the EEU (Enhanced Energy Utilization) system, the proven PMT spiral jet mill could be improved substantially in order to meet the ecological responsibility as well. Using functional

World Premiere for Laboratory-Equipment at the Achema 2018
The LabCompactPlus by NETZSCH is setting new benchmarks for grinding plants for labs Today, in the chemical industry and especially for dry grinding well-appointed laboratories are a must for the development of new products, for process optimization as well as for the production of small samples. At this year´s Achema, NETZSCH Trockenmahltechnik will be exhibiting the LabCompactPlus for the first time, a modular mill-/classifier unit, which is setting new benchmarks with its user friendliness, compact design and flexibility. During the design phase of the LabCompactPlus we took typical laboratory conditions into consideration as well as drawing on our own experience from decades of operating a laboratory. At the end of its development the result is a plant with stable, reproducible throughput and high product yield whose production parameters can be selected flexibly by the user. The modular principle enables the installation of five different systems in the swivel arm of the plant. With the aid of individual connector sets for electricity and compressed
