In 2019, an apron conveyor chain in front of a crusher for demolition material had to be replaced in Pantaleon at the Austrian company Hasenöhrl. No spare parts could be supplied by the plant manufacturer. FB Ketten found a suitable solution. The Hasenöhrl company was founded in 1960 by Otto Hasenöhrl. After more than five decades, the Hasenöhrl Group, with all its areas of activity, is one of the most modern in its sector. Managed by Com. Ing. Karl Hasenöhrl, the company is still a pure family business. Strategically, the company focuses on moderate and constant expansion, long-term customer loyalty, highly motivated employees as well as a sustainable approach to the environment and the conservation of natural resources. At several locations, demolition materials are processed and made available for re-entry into the raw materials cycle. In St. Pantaleon, the apron feeder chain to the crusher had to be replaced in 2019. This is how the contact between Mr. Gerhard Greindl (Head of Fleet Management at Hasenöhrl) and Mr. Gerhard Mittermayr, the responsible chain application engineer at FB Ketten, came about. Tailor-made chain solutions also for older plants FB Ketten specialises in customised

Which bulk material conveyor for which situation?
Chain and screw conveyors versus belt conveyors. Sinfimasa manufactures chain and screw conveyors specifically for each customer and project. Which bulk material conveyor for which situation? Chain and screw conveyors versus belt conveyors There are several alternatives for conveying bulk materials. The most important of these are screw conveyors, belt conveyors and chain conveyors. Conveyors for bulk material should always be tailored to the situation: the movement path and the characteristics of the specific bulk material. Which type of conveyor is best for each situation? At Sinfimasa, we always say that the most important factor determining the choice of conveyor type is the product to be transported. Before the engineer defines the system, the properties of the product and conditions must be characterised. To mention are: the bulk density, grain size, abrasiveness, corrosivity, the temperature at which it will be transported, the power required, the degree of clumping, hygroscopicity, etc... Depending on the product and the configuration of the process or plant, one device will be better than

Chain conveyors for transport and elevation of Solid Recovered Fuel
Sinfimasa designed three chain conveyors for the transport of SRF. Sectorization of two fire zones was important, so one of the conveyors was equipped with firewall slide gates. Solid Recovered Fuel (SRF) is a fuel prepared from non-hazardous waste, and used for energy recovery in incineration and co-incineration plants. It consists of small fractions of waste with a high calorific value. This makes it also suitable for use in cement kiln installations. Our client is a non-hazardous waste valorisation plant, and needed to build a conveying line to deliver different types of SRF into storage boxes after shredding, separation and classification process. The required output was 150 m3/h. Transport in 3 steps To solve this need, Sinfimasa designed three chain conveyors; the first one would transport the SRF at a horizontal distance of about 10m and would elevate it to a height of 8m. The second conveyor is positioned horizontally over a distance of 4,7 m. An important function of this conveyor is to ensure the sectorization of two fire zones, so it was equipped with firewall slide gates. A third conveyor was designed and manufactured

The importance of custom manufacturing in solids handling
The handling of bulk solids, especially aggregates and other hard minerals requires highly robust and reliable conveyor equipment. Sinfimasa designs equipment based on product properties. Robust equipment The handling of bulk solids, especially aggregates and other hard minerals requires highly robust and reliable conveyor equipment. Its 100% tailor-made manufacturing is the most recommended in this sector to offer to the engineering companies the most suitable components and features for the user’s working conditions and ensure maximum performance and return on investment. Maximum reliability Total adaptation to customer needs means, not only maximum reliability conveyors to reduce facilities downtime, but also the maintenance costs by assembling top quality brands preferred by the user which are freely accessible in the market, as is the case of motor-reducers, bearings, or instrumentation (motion, temperature, deviations sensors). Proven technology Having proven experience and references, as well as a test bench for testing the behavior of the client’s material, will help the success in the design of the conveyor to be manufactured. Trough chain conveyors – how to prevent wear?
A thermal power plant wished to prevent wear in their trough chain conveyor. These units are used to collect and transport away ash and slag from the combustion of e.g. coal under the boiler. A municipal thermal power plant wished to prevent progressive wear in their trough chain conveyor. These units are used to collect and transport away ash and slag from the combustion of e.g. coal under the boiler. The hard material often causes rapid abrasion of the floor and side walls. The operator of the thermal power plant was looking for a wear protection solution to avoid the costly repairs and shutdowns of the plant. Kalenborn received the order to line the trough chain conveyor with ABRESIST cast basalt plates. The product is characterised by a very hard but smooth surface that reliably protects against abrasive wear and the build-up of material being conveyed. ABRESIST is resistant to corrosion, insensitive to chemical substances and at the same time temperature resistant up to 350°C. Kalenborn lined the component in only three days. The simple and quick installation, plus the cost-effective wear-resistant material ABRESIST. An economical solution

Monitoring for drag chain conveyors 4B WDA sensor used as solution to monitor chain slack or breakage
Monitoring for drag chain conveyors
4B WDA sensor used as solution to monitor chain slack or breakage By using a WDA sensor in combination with a speed relay, ferrous steel flights or bolts on plastic paddles are used to monitor for broken or slack chain issues on drag conveyors. The WDA is a non-contacting extended range magnetic proximity sensor, not affected by dust or material build up, used to detect moving ferrous material up to 75mm away from the sensor. The speed relay is used to monitor the speed of a rotating shaft and detect if it rises or falls below a preset safety level.

Perfectly balanced: Mobile weighing frame conveyor
Perfectly balanced: Mobile weighing frame conveyor
Would you like to meter your bulk material straight out of the big bag, mobile and with no intermediate steps? You can, with our mobile weighing frame conveyor; and not only does it make your work easier, it also saves costs. In addition, the dust-free loading provides for even more safety during bulk material handling. Simply move the conveyor up to the desired container or mixer, hook up the big bag, connect the system to a power outlet and you are ready to go. The system stops as soon as the control unit has reached the set discharge amount – at an accuracy of +/- 200 g. All advantages at a glance ◾Moveable conveyor system with an integrated scale ◾Product impurities are avoided by means of residual emptying ◾Materials and weighing units are perfectly adjusted to the bulk material ◾Upstream or downstream check weighers and prior reloading become obsolete ◾Gravimetric weighing for more exact metering (+/- 200 g) ◾High

New GEPPERT product: Curved Stainless steel belt conveyor with plastic module chains manufactured in 48 hours
New GEPPERT product:
Curved Stainless steel belt conveyor with plastic module chains manufactured in 48 hours One of the largest ranges of stainless steel belt conveyors in Europe is offered by the belt conveyor manufacturer GEPPERT-Band. Now, the product range also includes a curved EM-C with plastic modular chain. It is the right solution to convey products through a curve without a change to their orientation on the belt. The model can be made to measurement for any angle between 15 and 180° that has to be bridged. It comes in a very slim design. Because of the small inner radius it can be used in confined spaces. The frame is only 18 mm wider than the chain itself. Also at the deflecting roller, the brackets only add 44 mm of width. The whole height including the chain is only 95 mm. The modular plastic chains of the EM-C fulfil the high hygiene standards required in food, pharmaceutical and chemical production, as does the entire belt conveyor. The chains are easy to remove and clean. Furthermore, they are particularly hard-wearing and easy to maintain thanks to
